StreamVault is a free, browser-based universal stream player that lets you watch any publicly accessible video or live stream directly in your browser — no apps, plugins, or accounts required.

We believe watching video online should be simple. Paste a link and press play. Whether it's an MP4, a WebM file, or a live HLS/M3U8 stream, StreamVault handles it automatically.

Technology

StreamVault is built on the HTML5 <video> element for direct video playback and HLS.js for adaptive bitrate HTTP Live Streaming. All processing happens locally in your browser — no video data passes through our servers.

StreamVault does not require you to create an account. We do not collect personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily submit it via our contact form. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) may be retained for up to 30 days for security purposes.

Video URLs you enter are processed entirely within your browser. They are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Our Position

StreamVault does not host, store, or distribute any video content. We are a client-side browser tool that plays URLs provided by users. We respect intellectual property rights and comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Filing a DMCA Notice

We do not control servers hosting third-party content. For infringing content at external sources, please contact that hosting provider directly.

If you believe StreamVault's own assets infringe your copyright, send a written notice including:

What video formats are supported?

MP4, WebM, OGG, and HLS (.m3u8) streams. The format is detected automatically from the URL.

Why doesn't my video load?

The most common reason is CORS (Cross-Origin Resource Sharing) restrictions on the video's host server. The server must allow cross-origin requests. Privately hosted streams without CORS headers will not play in a browser player.

Does StreamVault store my URLs?

No. URLs are processed entirely in your browser and never sent to our servers. The ?v= parameter in the page URL is a client-side routing feature — it never leaves your browser tab unless you share it.

Can I share a stream?

Yes! After loading a stream, click Share to get a shareable link. Anyone who opens it will have the stream pre-loaded automatically.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. StreamVault is fully responsive. Note that autoplay may be restricted on mobile due to browser policies — tap play if the stream doesn't start automatically.

Is it free to use?

Completely free. We are supported by non-intrusive advertising via Google AdSense.
